Family Album // Italy Day Three
So, I'm going to try out a slightly different format with this post. I'll be including photos of the spread throughout, instead of doing a gallery at the end. Let me know if this works better, is more appealing, etc.
Mike and I were recently in Italy for a week. The bulk of our time was spent in Sardinia, with a day in Rome tacked on at the end. It was a work trip for Mike, and we had quite a few scheduled events with very little unplanned time. I'm not complaining...but that makes for a different type of trip. That being said, it was wonderful. This spread is our second day in Sardinia. (note: several days later I figured out this is actually day three. urgh.)
My current plan is to make a spread for each day and include it in the family album (no idea why I started with day two). I'm honestly not sure if that's a great idea. But, something about having everything in one place is appealing. However, this is my first year of Project Life, of memory keeping in general, and I'm determined to make every rookie mistake possible.
On day two we went on a guided off-road tour of northern Sardinia. We stopped at small farmer's market in San Pantaleo and finished with an al fresco lunch at an old winery. All of the cards and stamps on these pages are Kelly Purkey. I'll link to specifics whenever possible.
First off, I apologize. I have purchased two or three of Kelly's 3x4 card grab bags that were recently on sale. This has made it impossible to track which card is from what kit. Keep an eye out for those sales. For the blue title card, I printed the typewriter font on vellum, date stamped it, and attached with the tiny attacher. Below that scrap of vellum, I used Kelly's pale pink alpha stickers. Her monthly kit always includes an alpha sticker set. My feet are stamped with "continually curious." Next, I journaled on vellum and stapled that over her ombre one through five filler card. About number five, I couldn't fit in my journaling that the 12-passenger van I drove was stick shift...and I didn't stall once (I was 100% sober). One of my proudest moments. On the bottom left photo, I used a white alpha set (again, Kelly's) and then stamped "documented" in Brilliance Moonlight White. There are a few subtle elements to this layout that actually look better in person. It's hard to see the white stamp once I apply a filter to the photo (it's been storming all week, with absolutely no natural light).
On the right side, I added this amazing airplane paper clip. I love those. On the middle shot of our al fresco lunch setting, I printed our menu and then stamped that piece of vellum with "today's menu." Bottom right, I trimmed down a kraft paper tag (from Knot & Bow) and stamped it with "where should I go today."
There's very little embellishing to this spread. I really wanted the beautiful scenery and bright colors to be the focus. And now to decide which day is next. Hah. Have a great weekend y'all!
