Hi.

I'm Lisa. I'm a wife, mom of two, freelance writer and documenter. This is where I share bits and pieces of my sometimes crazy, mostly happy life.

Work Space // The Craft Hub

I'm lucky to have an entire room to use as an office and creative space. It's amazing, but a good portion of that space needs to be dedicated to my freelance work and I'm finding that my craft supplies are slowly but surely taking over. I'm new to scrapbooking and I haven't amassed a huge stash, but it still feels like a lot. And it get's out of control very quickly. I'm constantly trying to figure out the best system and I think I've stumbled on something that works. At least for now.

It's an Elfa brand cart, with casters. I "custom" built this one during their 30% off sale (which runs a few times a year). It's a wide (22") white mesh cart, 29" tall with a white melamine top. The top doubles as a great matte white background for pictures. Mine has five single runner drawers and one double-runner drawer.

First drawer contains stamps, adhesive, scissors, and the tiny attacher. These little baskets are super cheap and use them for everything. Not available online, but $1.99 at the Container Store,

Second drawer contains a basket of oversize alphas and numbers, a small bin of alpha stickers (Kelly Purkey makes my favorites), a bin of random enamel dots/stars, a bin of washi stickers and strips, and wood veneer embellishments.

Third drawer is a large basket of miscellaneous embellishments. Hard to define, but rubber months, tags, tassels, acrylic pieces. Let's call them 3D?? Next comes a selection of my most frequently used washi tape, mini flair, chipboard stickers, words/phrases and acetate pieces.

Fourth drawer: stamps and embossing. This is where I keep my inks. My absolute favorites are the Crafter's Inks by Ali Edwards. And then, of course, Stazon. This drawer also houses everything embossing.

The fifth drawer is exclusively stickers. Alpha and everything else.

Last, but not least, the big guy. The sixth drawer is twice as deep as the others. It's an oversize catch-all: the Mega date and time stamps, the crop-a-dile, punches etc.

There's obviously not an exact science at work here. But so far, this works. These categories satisfy my crazy brain. I'd love to link to everything....but that would be an insane list. If you have any questions about specific items, let me know!
