Mini Album // Books
This morning I finally put together the framework for my 2017 book mini album. I'd been mulling over exactly what format I wanted to work with, but as soon as I found this acrylic reporter album the decision was made. The album is by Jamaica Makes and is currently sold out. It seems like all of Jamaica's awesome albums sell out incredibly fast. I actually set up post notifications through Instagram to make sure I caught her next re-stock. I may have purchased a few more of her albums...be on the lookout for more mini albums!
The cover and dividers are postcards of classic Penguin novels. They were trimmed very slightly to fit the width of the album, but the length was perfect. I actually have a collection of these postcards sets. I've used them as wall art, correspondence, and now for memory keeping. Initially, I was going to use a 12 tab monthly set-up for the album. But to be completely honest, with Ben not quite sleeping through the night, I'm not reading as much as I typically do. A seasonal set-up will be a little more forgiving of my sporadic habits. The tabs are stamped with winter, spring, summer and autumn. So, the postcards were trimmed, hole-punched and tabbed (supplies linked below). I labeled the cover, Books 2017.
I'm thinking books will be documented with a photo and some thoughts printed on vellum. I'll post an update to show my progress...wish me luck! What books are on your list this year?
